Despite both The Boston Globe and The Washington Post both being sold in the same week, Arthur Sulzberger Jr., the publisher of The New York Times and chairman of The New York Times Company, "emphatically declared" on Wednesday that The Grey Lady will be doing no such thing. “Will our family seek to sell The Times? The answer to that is no," Sulzberger wrote in a statement. He added that the paper's success with digital subscriptions, its profitability, and good cash flow are the reasons the paper is "perfectly able to fund our future growth. The Times has both the ideas and the money to pursue innovation."
