According to prosecutors, two men in Georgia filed a tax return with the personal information of Attorney General Eric Holder, including his birthday and Social Security number, in an attempt to get his refund. Holder was one of several people targeted by Yafait Tadesse and Eyaso Abebe, who pleaded guilty to the charges. Fraudulent income-tax returns have become a growing problem in the U.S. “Identity theft affects people from all walks of life, from hardworking taxpayers trying to make ends meet, to senior government officials,” said the U.S. attorney on the case.
