The Walmart trucker charged in the fatal crash that involved 30 Rock star Tracy Morgan reportedly hadn't slept in 24 horus prior to the accident. On Monday, New Jersey authorities said Kevin Roper, 35, had gone a full day without sleep when the crash occurred. Roper has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto. Police believe Roper dozed off while driving the 18-wheeler on the New Jersey Turnpike early Saturday and didn’t see traffic slowing until it was too late. Roper’s bail is set at $50,000. The crash killed James McNair, a comedy writer for Morgan and a mentor of his. Morgan was more responsive Sunday, but will likely stay in the hospital for several weeks, his rep said in a statement. The rep said that Morgan suffered a broken leg, a broken nose, broken ribs, and a broken femur, and underwent surgery Sunday. Two others, Jeffrey Millea and Ardie Fuqua Jr., are still hospitalized, as well. Harris Stanton, who was also injured, has been released from the hospital.
