An Australian TV channel has broadcast a reenactment video made of Olympian Oscar Pistorius shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Australia’s Channel 7 obtained the “visual mapping” reenactment, which was created by The Evidence Room, a U.S. company that specializes in forensic animation. In the footage, Pistorius is seen pointing his right arm as if he were holding a gun, while his sister, Aimee, takes the spot of Steenkamp. Pistorius is shown dragging her body from the bathroom and carrying her down the stairs. According to Channel 7, it was shot in Pistorius’ uncle’s home “some months” after the 2013 Valentine’s Day shooting. Pistorius’ defense team slammed both Channel 7 and The Evidence Room for airing the video on Sunday. Pistorius family lawyer Brian Webber said in a statement, “For the family, the airing of this footage constitutes a staggering breach of trust and an invasion of the family’s privacy.” Pistorius’ trial resumes Monday.
