Chinese audiences apparently love them some Michael Bay. The latest film in his Transformers series has set a new box-office record in the former land of Mao. Transformers: Age of Extinction has grossed $279.75 million in less than three weeks. The fourth Transformers film is set to become the first movie in China to make more than $300 million. Bay's film had a few advantages to give it a leg up with Chinese audiences. Not only did the film feature native actors Han Geng and Li Bingbing, but also product placements for several Chinese items, including milk drinks and PCs. China is now the second biggest film market in the world.
