A canyon’s worth of marijuana plants were yanked from California’s Laguna Coast Wilderness Park on Friday. Between 2,500 and 4,000 marijuana plants, worth an estimated $3 million, were uprooted from the park’s Muddy Canyon by Orange County investigators and flown to a staging area to be packaged as evidence. The bust was unusual for its proximity to an urban residential area. “In the past we’ve found plants deep in canyons, such as off Ortega Highway, in more rural areas,” sheriff’s Lt. Jeff Hallock said. No suspects have been identified.
