‘SNL’ Alum Jan Hooks Dead at 57

Saturday Night Live alumna Jan Hooks passed away Thursday in New York at the age of 57. The cause of death remains undisclosed, though TMZ reports that Hooks had been battling a serious illness. Hooks was on SNL from 1986-91, alongside Mike Myers, Phil Hartman, Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon, Chris Farley, Dennis Miller, and Nora Dunn, who played the one half of the Sweeney Sisters alongside Hooks. She is remembered for her spot-on impressions of Sinead O’Connor, Hillary Clinton, and Tammy Faye Bakker. Hooks also appeared in Pee-wee’s Big Adventure, Batman Returns, and had a guest role on 30 Rock, playing Jenna’s gold-digging mother.
