The Phi Kappa Psi fraternity at the University of Virginia, the alleged site of a gang rape in Rolling Stone’s infamous report, has been cleared for reinstatement by the Charlottesville Police. The chapter will be reinstated by the university because the police “investigation has not revealed any substantive basis to confirm that the allegations raised in the Rolling Stone article occurred at Phi Kappa Psi,” the school said in a statement Monday. The chapter voluntarily suspended its chapter in November after the Rolling Stone article came out and sparked a massive backlash against the fraternity. However, many discrepancies in the story have since come to light.
