Biden Security Fails to Capture Gunman

Authorities have no leads or suspects in Saturday’s shooting outside Vice President Joe Biden’s Delaware home after surveillance footage failed to capture any images of the gunman, The Washington Post reported Tuesday. The cameras were focused on areas next to the house but not on the main road, where security agents and neighbors heard multiple shots fired before a car sped away, government officials said, requesting anonymity in discussing the investigation. The residence’s security system has been problematic in the past; setting false alarms or occasionally giving incorrect data that forced the Secret Service to turn it off for several months, according to the Post. The system was repaired in November, but following Saturday’s shooting the Secret Service is proposing to add more cameras to cover a wider area. Biden spokeswoman Kendra Barkoff declined to comment and Secret Service spokesman Edwin Donovan said the agency does not provide information about the vice president’s security.
