Police arrested a 40-year-old man in connection to a stabbing spree that left five people dead in a small town in western Japan on Monday. Authorities identified the suspect as Tatsuhiko Hirano, but a motive was unclear, said Keizo Okumoto, deputy chief of the Sumoto police department. The victims reportedly were between the ages of 60 and 80 years old and were residents of Sumoto on Awaji Island.
