Ferrets to Stay Banned in NYC

WEASELED OUT

Can't have them as pets.

Ferrets were shunned once again on Tuesday when the New York City Board of Health refused to lift a 16-year-old ban on the animals as household pets. Concerns over the animals’ “unique skeletal structure,” the way they “squeeze through very small crevices,” and past reports of ferret-induced injuries to infants resulted in defeat of the measure which would have allowed the animals as pets.
