Madison, Wisc. police officer Matt Kenny, who shot and killed unarmed man Tony Robinson in March, will not face criminal charges, according to Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne. “I conclude that this tragic and unfortunate death was a result of a lawful use of deadly police force and that no charges should be brought against Officer Kenny in the death of Tony Robinson Jr.,” Ozanne said. Officer Kenny alleged that Robinson attacked him in an apartment after he responded to a welfare call. Toxicology reports confirmed that Robinson, 19, had used controlled substances including marijuana, Xanax and mushrooms.
