An escaped circus elephant in Germany killed a 65-year-old man on Saturday, according to authorities. The man was taking a morning stroll in the woods near the town of Buchen when the African elephant, named “Baby,” attacked him. “There’s evidence of third party involvement,” a Heidelberg police spokeswoman said. “Either someone forgot to shut the enclosure, or the elephant was released intentionally.” The elephant has since been recaptured and returned to the circus.
