The full transcript of testimony by the New England Patriots’ Tom Brady during last month’s hearing with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell was released Tuesday, revealing the star quarterback maintained his innocence in regard to allegations he tampered with footballs before the AFC title game and discussed air levels with ballboys. Brady also said he has never asked anyone in the organization to tamper with footballs. The 457-page transcript, released by the NFL Players Association, also showed investigator Ted Wells admitted he never warned Brady he would be punished if he declined to hand over his cellphone. Brady’s lawyer argues the league made up its own rules without notifying the quarterback, and didn’t follow its rules in some instances. Brady was suspended four games and the team was fined $1 million and two draft picks as a result of the NFL-sanctioned investigation into the scandal known as Deflategate.
