The Senate approved the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act in a 74 to 21 vote on Tuesday despite accusations that the legislation allows for more government spying powers. The bill would encourage companies to share security intelligence with the Department of Homeland Security and other government agencies. The terms are somewhat vague and there is concern among civil-rights group that information could be shared that infringes on individual civil liberties.
