TransCanada, the company responsible for the proposed Keystone XL pipeline, asked to suspend its permit application on Monday night. The decision comes ahead of an expected rejection by the Obama administration, while the company goes through a state review process in Nebraska that it had resisted. The State Department was in the final stages of reviewing the application and a rejection was anticipated as soon as next week.
