The Treasury Department will announce sanctions against both companies and individuals who have ties to Iran’s ballistic-missile program, Bloomberg Business reported. The news comes just days after a U.S. official said Iran launched a rocket test near U.S. warships in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran denied that rocket test Thursday, claiming that the reports were false. Ali Akbar Velayati, a top adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, said the potential U.S. sanctions against companies with ties to the program “contravene the spirit” of the July nuclear accord and that “such measures will not be left unanswered," the site reported.
