The undefeated Clemson Tigers lost to No. 2 Alabama 45-40 in the thrilling 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday night. The Crimson Tide (14-1) victory earns Coach Nick Saban his fifth national title, including four within the last seven seasons. Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry carried 36 times for 158 yards and scored three times while tight end O.J. Howard had 208 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Deshaun Watson kept the Tigers even into the fourth quarter before the Alabama sealed the game with a 24-point fourth quarter.
