Two Syrian hospitals were struck early Wednesday by bombs, temporarily rendering them out of service. The hospitals, in a rebel-held area, are the two largest in Aleppo and among only eight still managing to function in the city. The facilities were hit by artillery shells and airstrikes before 5 a.m., medical officials said, and come as President Bashar al-Assad’s government forces began another bombardment of the country’s once-largest city. “This is going to reduce capacity. They are in areas that are hit quite often and are densely populated, so this is going to be a problem,” said Adham Sahloul of the SAMS medical organization. “It is very dire.”
