The White Stripes on Tuesday unequivocally denounced the use of their famed song “Seven Nation Army” in a pro-Donald Trump video online. In a Facebook message, the band—which broke up in 2011—wrote: “The White Stripes would like to unequivocally state that they have nothing whatsoever to do with this video. They are disgusted by this association, and by the illegal use of their song.” Band co-founder Jack White’s label Third Man Records also blasted out the message on social media. While there is no actual Trump campaign ad using the 2003 garage-rock classic, popularly used as a rallying cry at sporting events, there appear to be several YouTube videos using the song to gather support behind the real-estate mogul’s candidacy.
