Eric Trump will suspend all operations from his Eric Trump Foundation, the Washington Post reports. "No new money will come into the ETF bank account," Trump told the Post in a Thursday email. He had previously pledged not to personally raise money for the foundation. The foundation is ostensibly a charity, but has come under scrutiny for its use of funds. An investigation by The Daily Beast found that the foundation had spent $880,000 on Trump family-owned golf resorts. Its means of fundraising were also controversial; the foundation raised money auctioning off internships, sit-down meetings with the Trump family, and most recently a coffee date with Ivanka Trump. The latter auction was cancelled after intense backlash. It raised $72,000.
