Now that’s part of a good breakfast. General Mills, the maker of popular breakfast cereal Cheerios, announced Thursday that the healthy cereal brand will now be made completely without genetically modified ingredients. While the company did not specify exactly when boxed labeled as “Not Made With Genetically Modified Ingredients” would go on sale, they said they should appear on shelves soon as they have been manufacturing them for several weeks. Cheerios have been made with non-GMO oats, but now it is also using non-GMO cornstarch and sugar.
