The Kansas City Chiefs have offered to pay for Jovan Belcher’s funeral and have also offered assistance to the family of his murdered girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins. Belcher’s family has accepted and the organization will pay for Belcher’s memorial in Kansas City and his actual funeral in New York. It is not known if the Perkins family has accepted, but a spokesman for the Chiefs said, “We are assisting both families with arrangements … We just prefer not to get into specifics of what we are doing or have done.”
