China Censors Mentions of Panama Papers

The Chinese government has reportedly moved to censor media mentions of the Panama Papers leaks implicating global leaders and their relatives using secretive offshore tax shelters. According to The New York Times, China’s censors have gone as far as to block all Internet searches and Web discussions involving the words “Panama Papers.” Several key members of the Chinese Communist Party’s most powerful committee—including the propaganda chief—reportedly have relatives who have been involved with the tax-shelter companies exposed in the documents.
