Chinese police reportedly killed 17 people, including women and children, during a raid in Xinjiang last week. The operation was in connection to a September knife attack by separatists that left 50 people dead. Police claimed to have killed three people who were believed to have led that attack; their families were also killed by law-enforcement officials.
