China Defends Intercept of US Spy Plane

In response to a U.S. accusation on Friday that said a Chinese jet was making close passes at a Navy plane, China has said the U.S. accusation is "groundless." According to the Defense Ministry, the pilot and the passes were "professional and the Chinese jet kept a safe distance from the U.S. planes." The U.S. claimed that the Chinese jet came within nine meters at one point, and even did a "barrel roll" over the top of the plane to show that it was armed.
