A man in northern China has been arrested after he sold “fake” congealed duck blood that had been mixed with formaldehyde. The dish is typically regarded as a gourmet delicacy when it is genuine. Instead, the man used cow and sheep blood along with the chemical to boil up to five barrels of the dish. Officials said his home, where he ran the operation, was “overflowing with blood.”
