Chipotle has asked customers to check their firearms at the door before they order a barbacoa burrito. On Monday, the Denver-based chain responded to a weekend incident in which gun-rights advocates brought military-style rifles into one of their Dallas-area restaurants. While Chipotle has traditionally chosen to comply with local laws, it said in a statement that “the display of firearms in our restaurants has now created an environment that is potentially intimidating or uncomfortable for many of our customers.” A Chipotle spokesman did not say whether the restaurant was enforcing an outright ban of firearms.
