New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Sunday that he has dropped out of the running for a post-gubernatorial job at a local sports talk radio station, NewJersey.com reported. Christie, who has regularly filled in to co-host WFAN’s morning show, previously said reports that he was no longer being considered to replace the station’s longtime afternoon host were “completely incorrect.” In the Sunday statement he said he turned down the station’s offer that he host a different show with other co-hosts. “After considering the other options that I have been presented with for post-gubernatorial employment,” the governor said in a statement, “I declined their request to do additional shows. I made station executives aware that while I would be happy to continue to fill in for Boomer when asked and when available, that they should no longer consider me as a candidate interested in any job at WFAN when I leave the governorship. I made that clear to them prior to leaving for my family vacation two weeks ago.”
