Chris Froome won the Tour de France on Sunday for the second time in his career. He is the only British man to have won twice. Froome previously won in 2013 and beat out Mark Cavendish this year, who was seeking a fifth win at the three-week race. During the last 10 kilometers of the race, Froome had to remove a paper bag that got stuck in the gears of his bike which would have taken him out of title contention if he crashed. Up until Thursday, Froome maintained a three minute lead over the rest of the field in the race. At the end, he won by a narrow margin of 58 seconds, the smallest gap since 2008's race.
