The Missouri Senate candidate still has support of many conservative Christian groups, who have remained loyal allies during Akin’s tumultuous week. During Akin’s 11 years in the House of Representatives, he has supported a Christian agenda—and that has not gone unnoticed. Meanwhile, the controversy of Akin’s remarks continued: President Obama said Akin “missed a science class,” and politics as far away as Massachusetts were affected, as heated debates over the “war on women” began to take over the Senate race there.
