The accused perpetrator in one of this year’s most horrific stories is considering a plea deal that would spare him the death penalty. Ariel Castro, a Cleveland bus driver who’s accused of holding three women hostage for a decade, faces 977 charges. The county prosecutor confirmed the plea-deal negotiations, but did not add any details. If it goes through, Castro is expected to appear in court Friday to officially accept the plan.
