Clooney Calls Hollywood Cowards on Hack

George Clooney lambasted the press for its coverage of the Sony hack and criticized Hollywood Thursday, adding that industry leaders "ran for the hills" rather than sign his petition to stand behind the embattled studio. Clooney circulated a petition last week to support Sony Pictures in not succumbing to hacker threats, but no one signed out of fear, he said. In an interview with, Clooney said media "played the fiddle while Rome burned," hedging over North Korea's involvement. "With just a little bit of work, you could have found out that it wasn't just probably North Korea; it was North Korea," he said. Clooney also criticized the press for focusing on emails rather than the implications the hack could have on the future. "Here, we're talking about an actual country deciding what content we're going to have," he said. "We cannot be told we can't see something by Kim Jong-un, of all f*cking people."
