Elisabetta Canalis, a Sardinia-born actress and model, has been dating Clooney since last July. She’s said that Clooney makes her feel 18 again, and that “He's better than plastic surgery." Clooney, for his part, has said his single days are over and that he’s "extremely happy with [his] private life.” “I'm lucky enough to live with sweet company, to be in good health, to have wonderful friends and a formidable family," he said. "I couldn't dream for better."

Mariella Frostrup is a Norwegian-born journalist, advice columnist, and television and radio personality. She is good friends with Clooney, who is godfather to her two children. She’s said that “I think he will get married, yes. One day he will fall in love so deeply that he won't be able to resist. It would be nice to see. ... Funnily enough, I think the only reason he hasn't got married so far is that he is a fundamentally decent person and he wouldn't make that commitment if he thought the other person would be short-changed."

In 1989 Clooney married the actress Talia Balsam, whom he’d fallen for six years earlier while they were acting together in an L.A. theater production. The couple headed to Las Vegas in a Winnebago to get married. The marriage lasted three years. “Talia and I were together for a long time,” Clooney said. “She was the girl I chased and was in love with, the girl I always wanted to marry. I wasn’t very bright about it. We had to reconstruct our marriage a little bit, and I wasn’t willing to do that. I walked away. I could have been scared. Maybe I wasn’t ready to be married. It was my fault all the way down the line.”

British model Lisa Snowden dated Clooney intermittently for five years after meeting him on the set of a martini advertisement. The Britain’s Next Top Model judge told the Daily Mail that she was celibate for a year after dating Clooney because “I just don't get asked out any more. Men seem to look at me and think, ‘ She went out with George Clooney, what chance have I got?’”

Sarah Larson was the first of Clooney’s girlfriends to accompany him to the Academy Awards. The two met in 2007 in Las Vegas at the Palms Casino Hotel where Larson worked. Clooney broke things off with Larson in the summer of 2008, and Larson left Los Angeles, where she’d been living with him, to return to Vegas.
