Bolivian authorities have officially placed all responsibility for the deadly Nov. 29 plane crash in Colombia on the airline and pilot. The crash, which killed 71 people, including almost an entire Brazilian football team, is believed to have been caused by a lack of fuel. “The evidence is conclusive, the direct responsibility of this event falls on the pilot and the airline company,” Public Works and Services Minister Milton Claros said at a press conference Tuesday. The news comes after a disturbing recording was released in which the pilot can be heard radioing for help, saying he’d run out of fuel. The pilot, Miguel Quiroga, reportedly did not have enough training hours to be completing a commercial flight, Agence France-Presse reported. While an investigation into the crash is still underway, Colombia’s civil aviation agency has concluded that the plane ignored international rules on storing extra fuel. The Bolivia-based LaMia airlines has had its license suspended over the crash, and several aviation officials face liability for the tragedy.
