A total of five people have been arrested in central China after allegedly hiring six people infected with HIV to harass residents into giving up their homes to clear the path for new construction projects. The group spray-painted the words “AIDS demolition team” on many houses and used their AIDS identity cards to intimidate residents. The individuals hired were from a region that was hit by an AIDS epidemic related to a tainted blood-donation program run by the government.
