NPR is coming under fire for its decision to fire Juan Williams after he told Bill O’Reilly that he becomes “nervous” when he sees people in Muslim garb on airplanes. Mike Huckabee, who works for Fox News, said that NPR should lose congressional funding, and Bill O’Reilly said NPR had long been looking for an excuse to fire Williams because of his frequent appearances on Fox News. Meanwhile, Williams told Fox News this morning that he was fired by phone after he was told his comments “cross[ed] a line.”
