Consumer Confidence Highest Since 2008

Majority says economy getting better.

Gallup’s U.S. Economic Confidence Index has popped into positive territory for the first time since the Great Recession. It averaged +2 last week, a significant marker that Americans are more optimistic about the state of the national economy. Nearly half of all Americans said they felt the economy was “getting better,” outnumbering the 45 percent who felt the economy was getting worse by four points.
