Kellyanne Conway claimed late Thursday evening that President Donald Trump supports her “100 percent” despite the controversy over her publicly promoting Ivanka Trump’s clothing brand on television. “Buy Ivanka’s stuff!” Conway told Fox News viewers Thursday morning, during what she jokingly described as a “free commercial” in support of the Trump daughter’s brand after it was dropped by luxury retailer Nordstrom. When ethical questions arose about her shilling for the company from a position in the Executive Branch, the bipartisan House Oversight Committee leadership sent a letter to the White House recommending she be punished for her actions. Appearing on Fox News later that day, however, Conway said, “I am just really happy that I spent an awful lot of time with the president of the United States this afternoon and that he supports me 100 percent.” She acknowledged the letter sent to the White House, and added, “All I can say to America’s women is, at some point in your life, you ought to have a boss who treated me the way that the president of the United States treated me today.”
