The man killed by a police officer and FBI agent in Boston on Tuesday planned to behead police officers, The Boston Globe reports, citing two unnamed law-enforcement sources. Usaama Rahim was shot as he approached them with a military-style knife, the officials said, adding he was under 24-hour surveillance by the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force and had made threats against police. Later Tuesday, police also arrested David Wright on federal charges connected to the shooting, said a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Rahim's Facebook profile shows he “liked” a page for the Islamic State of Iraq, Sharia, and prominent Salafist clerics. His last public update, posted March 27, shows an image of a mountain range. The superimposed quote reads: “Let not the opinions of man interfere with the directions given to you by God.”
