Police responded to Capitol Hill at about 10 a.m. Wednesday, after a woman reportedly struck a U.S. Capitol Police cruiser and was taken into custody. Witnesses reported shots fired near the U.S. Capitol grounds, according to the Associated Press. The situation is reportedly contained. Emergency officials are on the scene to monitor the still unfolding situation, and police have not yet released any details. District of Columbia police spokeswoman Margarita Mikhaylova said it was “possible” that an officer fired shots but did not confirm it. No one was reported injured, said a fire spokesman.
