Couric Rumored to Replace Walters

First the engagement, and now this! Rumor has it that Katie Couric may be called to fill Barbara Walters’s very big shoes on The View when she retires in 2014. One problem might be that Katie Couric already has a talk show, called Katie, that just started a second season. A bigger problem? No one is watching it, according to Daily News sources who say the show will likely be canceled this winter. Walters, however, denies the talk. “I love Katie, and we are good friends,” she said. “But there is no truth to the rumor that she will be taking my place.” Sure, Babs, that’s what you said about Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s retirement, too.
