A Chicago judge ordered the son of a Brazilian immigrant seeking asylum to be reunited with his mom after they were separated at the U.S. border last month, according to CBS Chicago. Sirley Paixao sued the federal government this week in an effort to get back her son, Diego, who was being held in a facility in Chicago. Paixao was released from an immigrant detention facility on June 9th, and is now the second Brazilian woman to be reunited with her son through a federal court order in the past two weeks. Paixao told The Daily Beast that her son “constantly” asked her to get him “out of there, and to bring him home” while in detention in Chicago.
