Mexico was holding its breath early Thursday as rescue crews at a collapsed private elementary school worked in near-silence to save a 12-year-old girl caught in the remains of the structure. The child, reportedly named Frida Sofia, was in her Mexico City school Tuesday when a 7.1-magnitude quake struck. At least 21 students were reported dead, along with five adults, and dozens remained missing at the site. Across Mexico, the death toll reached 230. Officials at the scene of school believe the girl may be among several children who found shelter under a table inside the rubble.
