For five decades, Cubans have not been able to leave the country easily. The Castro regime imposed strict and expensive exit fees for those who wanted to leave the island. But now it looks like the government may make it easier for Cubans to travel. Parliament Chief Ricardo Alarcon said Tuesday that "radical and profound" changes to the travel policy are just weeks away, though others are cautioning that people shouldn't get their hopes up. The changes could make it easier for Cubans to work abroad and send money home. Whether the changes will help win U.S. support or help lift the embargo remains to be seen.
