Two Philadelphia cops were charged with beating a man after falsely charging him with assault and knocking him off of his motorscooter. Officers Kevin Robinson and Sean McKnight face multiple charges, including aggravated assault, simple assault, and conspiracy. Najee Rivera suffered a fractured orbital bone and multiple lacerations to his head after the cops assaulted him on May 29, 2013, according to District Attorney Seth Williams. When Rivera was in the hospital, the officers charged him with assaulting Robinson and resisting arrest. It wasn't until Rivera's girlfriend canvassed the area where the attack occurred and found a business that had surveillance video fo the attack that the charges were rescinded. Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey admitted that his force should have been the ones looking for the surveillance video.
