The American Society of Magazine Editors has nominated The Daily Beast for three Ellies, its annual digital-media award. The Beast earned mentions in the categories of digital design, special section (for Book Beast), and commentary (for Michelle Goldberg). The site was nominated for two awards last year for “general excellence” and also for Book Beast. The winners will be announced at a lunch in New York City on March 20.
