Daily News Corrects Weiner’s Evasive Sexting Answer

These days, this counts as good news for Anthony Weiner. It turns out the evasive-sounding answer to the New York Daily News’s question “There’s no one you’re sexting now?” wasn’t so sketchy after all. The Daily News had previously reported that Weiner answered, “You can quibble about beginnings, middles and ends but what we're talking about is over a year ago,” a bizarrely vague answer to a simple question. But now the exchange reads, “And it was over a year ago? There’s been nothing else?” To which Weiner replies, “I mean, oh yeah, all that stuff is behind me. You can quibble about you know, beginnings, middles and ends, but it was basically a year ago.” The Daily News blames a transcription error.
