Darren Walker has been tapped to be the new president of the Ford Foundation. Walker, who joined the organization in 2010, is currently vice president of the foundation's Education, Creativity and Free Expression program and oversees its regional programs in Africa and the Middle East. He has a long history of working at philanthropic organizations, spending time at the Rockefeller Foundation and the Abyssinian Development Corporation, a Harlem-based community association. Walker will replace Luis Ubiñas, a former McKinsey & Company executive who has led the foundation since 2007. Ubiñas announced in March that he would step down in September.
