Top Venezuelan officials are being investigated by a team of Drug Enforcement Administration agents and federal prosecutors in the U.S. for cocaine trafficking and money laundering. According to Wall Street Journal sources, the country’s National Assembly president, Diasdado Cabello, and other members of senior leadership, may have turned the country into a drug hub. The U.S. estimates that 131 tons of cocaine was moved through Venezuela last year.
